By author:
From the Browse Items main page of The List, click on "Sort by Creator" to sort all items by author.

Texts by the same author are marked as related.
By date:
From the Browse Items main page of The List, click on "Sort by Date Added" to sort all items by date.
By tag (Browse by Tag):
Items are tagged with the following types of information:

- Genre and subject
- Level of certainty about self-publication
- Women as authors
- Items printed at a newspaper office (including a subset printed at an African American newspaper office)
- Black and female members of printing and publishing trades
- Reasons for inclusion on list
- State/region where item was printed/published
- Institutional holdings
By printer:
Items printed by the same printer are marked as related.
