The Details:

Isaiah Thomas. Catalogue of Books to be Sold by Isaiah Thomas, at his Book-Store in Worcester Worcester: Isaiah Thomas, 1787. [catalog record]

Bequest of Charles Lemuel Nichols, 1929.

The Story:

In preparing a definitive bibliography of Worcester printing, Charles L. Nichols discovered that the collection formed by Isaiah Thomas of his own imprints was significantly incomplete. Nichols set himself the task of filling the gaps.  Thanks to his efforts, AAS now possesses a virtually complete collection of Thomas imprints.  One of Nichols’ best finds was this pristine example—one of three known—of Isaiah Thomas’s first published catalogue.
