The Story:
At the Thomas W. Streeter auction sales, AAS used a portion of its Streeter bequest funds to acquire Rice’s Lecture, one of three known copies of the earliest extant Kentucky imprint. Earlier books were advertised in contemporary newspapers, and the title page here notes another, but no copies of these have been located.
