Gift of Thomas W. Streeter, before 1960.

The Story:

In thirty-two years of AAS membership, Thomas W. Streeter proved to be a constant and generous donor.  His gifts included one of the earliest known Oklahoma imprints: this unique copy of the first Oklahoma almanac.  The publisher had moved west to the new Indian Territory established for the displaced Five Civilized Tribes. There he opened a new press at the Union Mission, issuing publications in Creek, Cherokee, and Choctaw.
