Joseph Green, Entertainment for a Winter’s Evening: Being a Full and True Account of a Very Strange and Wonderful Sight in Boston on the Twenty-Seventh of December, 1749. Boston: Gamaliel Rogers, 1750. Gift of Thomas Wallcut, 1834. [catalog record]

The Story:

Among the thousands of titles cataloged as part of the North American Imprints Program (NAIP) is this mock-epic poem satirizing a Masonic parade in Boston. The computer-based NAIP record created at AAS for the poem is in the MARC format, originally developed by the Library of Congress. Each aspect (such as author, title, imprint, size and provenance) is entered into a numbered field and allows users to do sophisticated searching. [shown with Digital Evans record and catalog record]
