Gift of Levi Lincoln, 1856.

The Story:

Baldwin began keeping a regular diary in 1829. It is a highly engaging and often humorous account of life in central Massachusetts. After Baldwin’s death, his papers went to his good friend William Lincoln, who died in 1843. William’s brother Levi then took possession of the Baldwin papers, later presenting them to the Society.
