The Story:
With the advent of the parlor press came amateur books. Published in Farmer City, Illinois, this book was printed by Thomas G. Harrison in Lafayette, Indiana. Harrison later published a history of amateur journalism, with reminiscences of his career as a printer and president of the National Amateur Press Association. Over the past two decades, developing AAS’s amateur book collection has become a high priority, as these homespun imprints serve to complement the Society’s unrivalled collection of amateur newspapers.
