T.A. Tefft, Proposal for a new Antiquarian Hall - T. A. Tefft, the architect chosen by the Society, offered several treatments of the façade of the proposed building that were rejected by the Council, who feared that the cost of the ornate cornice and other ornamentation would exceed the budget. Tefft offered a simpler design that the Council approved at their April 1852 meeting, but no watercolor of the accepted treatment appears to have survived. Watercolor on paper. T. A.
