Marcus A. McCorison - Marcus Allen McCorison was appointed librarian in 1960. After 1967, his title was president and librarian. In September 1992, as a prelude to McCorison’s planned retirement the following year, Nancy Burkett was named the Marcus A. McCorison Librarian. McCorison, who, in addition to advancing the Society’s national reputation as a scholarly institution and rare book library, was a renowned bookman. Here he inspects the Society’s copy of Nathaniel Morton, New England’s Memoriall (Cambridge: Printed by S.G. and M.J. [i.e, Samuel Green and Marmaduke Johnson] for John Usher of Boston., 1669). Purchased for the Society from the Michael Papantonio estate, by Frank L. Harrington, Sr., 1978.
