Waldo Lincoln (1849-1933), of Worcester, a retired manufacturer, was elected president of the American Antiquarian Society in 1908 and served until 1927. Lincoln hired Clarence S. Brigham as librarian and, between 1908 and 1910, led the planning for the construction of the current Antiquarian Hall. Lincoln also presided over the observance of the Society’s Centennial.
