                On <date>December 29th</date>, with the <name type ="ship">Java</name> we fell in,<lb/>
                When orders soon were given, clear ship and haul the wind,<lb/>
                All hands to quarter, rudder a-lee,<lb/>
                Reef topsail and take in storm-stay,<lb/>

            <p>
                Only in one short hour, and fifty-five minutes,<lb/>
                The <name type ="ship">Java</name> and her crew gave up with us disputes,<lb/>
                Her scuppers ran with <name type ="nationality">British</name> blood,<lb/>
