            <p>
                GIVE ear to me, ye Sons of Men,<lb/>
                Why stand ye gazing round my bed?<lb/>
                You all must die, the <name type ="mythological">Lord</name> knows when,<lb/>
                And be amongst the silent dead;<lb/>
                Tho' now in health, you all must die,<lb/>
                And turn to dust as well as I.<lb/></p>

            <p>
                When from my makers hand I came,<lb/>
                The seeds of death were in me sown,<lb/>
                Which will dissolve this mortal frame,<lb/>
                Soon as the bloom of life is blown;<lb/>
                Behold me on a dying bed;<lb/>
                Forget me not when I am dead.<lb/></p>

            <p>
                The seeds of grace have since been sown,<lb/>
                And deeply rooted in my soul,<lb/>
                Which being ripe and fully grown,<lb/>
                Now sweetly on the moments roll,<lb/>
                Come, welcome death, and set me free,<lb/>
                My <name type ="symbolic">Saviour's</name> face I long to see.<lb/></p>

            <p>
                Farewell my father, fond and dear,<lb/>
                I wish you well with all my heart;<lb/>
                Farewell my mother, fond and near,<lb/>
                For you and I must shortly part;<lb/>
                My <name type ="religious">JESUS</name> calls and I must go,<lb/>
                And leave all earthly things below.<lb/></p>

            <p>
                Farewell my brethren young and old,<lb/>
                Farewell my little sisters too;<lb/>
                My cheeks are pale, my hands are cold,<lb/>
                And I must bid you all adieu;<lb/>
                My days are spent, my race is run,<lb/>
                Remember me when dead and gone.<lb/></p>

            <p>
                Farewell my young companions all,<lb/>
                From Death's arrest no age is free;<lb/>
                Remember this forewarning call,<lb/>
                Prepare for death and follow me;<lb/>
                The wise, the foolish, and the brave,<lb/>
                Must try the cold and silent grave.<lb/></p>

            <p>
                Farewell my neighbours kind and free,<lb/>
                The happy hour is hast'ning on,<lb/>
                When you shall say concerning me,<lb/>
                That <name type ="historical">Polly Goold</name> is dead and gone,<lb/>
                The like will soon be said of you,<lb/>
                The ways of virtue then pursue.<lb/></p>

            <p>
                Adieu to all things here below,<lb/>
                My treasure is above the sky,<lb/>
                My <name type ="symbolic">Saviour</name> calls and I must go,<lb/>
                And take possession by and by;<lb/>
                Dear <name type ="religious">JESUS</name> come, delay no more,<lb/>
                I long to reach thy peaceful shore.<lb/></p>

            <p>
                Now she is dead and cannot stir,<lb/>
                Her cheeks are like the fading rose;<lb/>
                Which of us next must follow her,<lb/>
                The <name type ="mythological">Lord</name> <name type ="symbolic">Almighty</name> only knows,<lb/>
                But this you know as well as I,<lb/>
                That we are mortals born to die.<lb/></p>

            <p>
                Cease my beloved to complain,<lb/>
                Her soul is born of heavenly birth,<lb/>
                The dust returns to dust again,<lb/>
                Her voice is heard no more on earth,<lb/>
                But her immortal soul is gone,<lb/>
                To put eternal glories on.<lb/></p>

            <p>
                The great <name type ="symbolic">Creator</name> wise and true,<lb/>
                Has an undoubted right to reign,<lb/>
                He made and lent her unto you,<lb/>
                'Till he shall call for her again;<lb/>
                He has a right to take his own,<lb/>
                O praise Him for his blessed loan.<lb/></p>

            <p>
                Remember this, you mourning friends,<lb/>
                Your loss is her eternal gain,<lb/>
                With her all sin and sorrows ends,<lb/>
                Then cease to murmer or complain,<lb/>
                The weary soul is gone to rest,<lb/>
                Where sin and <name type ="religious">Satan</name> can't molest.<lb/></p>

            <p>
                She was a blessing here below,<lb/>
                A lovely, kind and pleasant child;<lb/>
                Her soul now free from sin and woe,<lb/>
                Shall serve its Maker undefil'd:<lb/>
                Her sleeping in the grave shall rest,<lb/>
                'Till sun and moon their courses cease.<lb/></p>

            <p>
                How sweet and pleasant was the sound<lb/>
                That hasten'd from her mortal tongue,<lb/>
                Now she is gone where joys abound,<lb/>
                A song of nobler praise is sung-<lb/>
                Where peace, and love, and concord reigns,<lb/>
                She sings in high angelic strains.<lb/></p>

            <p>
                Rejoice ye mourners here below,<lb/>
                That she is gone to worlds above,<lb/>
                Yet mourn your loss in parting so,<lb/>
                For she was worthy of your love;<lb/>
                Rejoice with grief and mourn with joy,<lb/>
                Your teare refrain, your tongues employ.<lb/></p>

            <p>
                Who can describe the joys of heaven,<lb/>
                Or comprehend the <name type ="symbolic"><name type ="mythological">Lord</name> of Host</name>!<lb/>
                May honor, might, and praise be given<lb/>
                To <name type ="symbolic">Father</name>, <name type ="symbolic">Son</name> and <name type ="symbolic">Holy Ghost</name>;<lb/>
                All glory to the <name type ="symbolic">One in Three</name>,<lb/>
